Challenge. Treated effluent from a bulk-drug facility carried residual suspended solids and persistent colour that conventional tertiary treatment could not polish to reuse-grade quality.

Approach. A combined AQUATss + AQUACODe treatment train was tested on plant effluent, first in bench soak studies and then in flow-through columns.

Outcome. Greater than 99% removal of both TSS and colour, producing visually clear, reuse-ready water and a documented basis for full-scale design.

Media Train

Challenge. Cobalt, manganese, and hardness in feed water threatened RO membrane life and downstream water-reuse targets at a large coastal petrochemical site.

Approach. AQUAMet media was piloted on site as a pre-RO guard bed, run against real feed variability and benchmarked against the incumbent treatment.

Outcome. Demonstrated selective uptake of target metals together with hardness reduction, with trial results compiled into a commercial-scale design basis.

Challenge. Blast-furnace gas-cleaning-plant wastewater carried cyanide and COD levels above discharge norms, resistant to the plant's existing treatment.

Approach. Soak studies established baseline removal for both COD and cyanide; flow-through column testing then optimised the cyanide treatment train, including ferrous-sulphate chemistry.

Outcome. Cyanide reduction improved to 88% in flow-through operation, alongside strong COD removal — a clear path to compliant discharge.

Challenge. Silica at ~300 ppm in process wastewater was blocking the plant's water-recovery ambitions and threatening downstream membrane systems.

Approach. A flow-through treatability study using Exposome silica-capture media, complemented by Exposome's liquid silica treatment chemistry.

Outcome. Silica reduced from 300 ppm to 35 ppm in flow-through operation — an order-of-magnitude improvement opening the door to reuse.

Challenge. A paper mill needed stage-wise clarity on how far media treatment could push COD and hardness across its existing wastewater train.

Approach. Stage-by-stage treatability testing with AQUACODe-class media for COD and softening media for hardness, sampled at multiple points in the train.
